Amir Khan vs Phil Lo Greco
It’s unfortunate timing that Amir Khan’s comeback isn’t even the biggest return in British boxing this summer. Tyson Fury takes that title, but there will still be plenty of interest in what Khan can produce.
The one-time 17-year-old Olympian is now fighting in his 30s for the first time and will hope an impressive victory, masterminded by new coach Joe Goossen who has replaced the ill Virgil Hunter, can earn him fights against the likes of Terence Crawford, Manny Pacquiao and Kell Brook, who will be ringside at the Echo Arena.
After hand surgery and almost two years out, Khan has a lot of questions to answer. Lo Greco is unlikely to ask many of them but he has at least been in the ring with the likes of Shawn Porter and Errol Spence Jr, even if he suffered convincing defeats at the hands of both.
